March Madness

It's the time of year when I can't wait for Spring to arrive. The ugly and dirty remains of old ice and snow have finally melted into a sick looking lawn that is trying to revive as the temperature decides whether it will be below 30 or above 5o degrees. The innocent newness of the fallen snow in the morning is gone with the brightness of the sun by the time I come home from work. I am anxiously awaiting to be outside planting flowers and digging in the dirt preparing for my vegtable garden. However, I am not looking forward past Spring to mowing the lawn, weeding or watching my green lawn from the Spring rains turn brown during the hot sun of summer. If only I can learn to enjoy the moment! Like so many times before I eagerly anticipate the fruits of my labors and continuously envision eating the bounty of the harvest. But then I get sick and tired of that bounty way too soon. I mean there are so many things one can do with a zuchinni. I also have these grand ideas of relaxing in my beautiful and peaceful Garden of Eden only to find the reality is merely a workout in the "Garden of Weedin"..............nonetheless, happy thoughts!

The Beginning of a New Year

A new year has begun and I can't believe it is 2009........so with this year comes many new changes. For starters, don't you just love the economy? It gives me such a calm and peaceful feeling (NOT!) And we have a new member in our household. Her name is Lo Chan and she is an international student from Hong Kong. She is living with us and we really enjoy having her in our home! She is teaching us so much about her culture and homeland and it is so interesting. I am really thinking about taking her up on an offer to go to China. It is one of the places I would love to visit. There is so much history and beautiful art, not to mention some of the interesting looking food. She has had fun seeing it snow for the first time and making a snowman.

We have been busy making cookies and brownies and learning from each other the different games and customs of our countries. It is so wonderful! Lo is also teaching Harley how to sit in Chinese. She was a little bit afraid of him at first but now is getting used to the BIG puppy.

Spring semester has started again at the community college and once more I have signed up for another course. My Mom and Dad would be happy to finally hear me say I wish I would have done this 20 years ago...I can't believe I am actually admitting it, but they were right, I am finally realizing the importance of college. (It's never too late!)

Speaking of family.....I don't know of any easy way to say this but life does have its trials. It saddens me to say that my dear, sweet mom passed away two weeks ago. After notifying family and friends, making funeral arrangements and dealing with the pressure of speaking at the funeral and all the goings on, life is slowly getting back to how it use to be but it feels like there is a void now where there didn't use to be one. And I wonder if it will ever be normal again, maybe later I will go into more on the beautiful funeral and life of my mom, but for now it is good to know that there is much love and support from family and friends. Our Father in Heaven continues to bless us and the knowledge of His eternal plan brings the peace and comfort needed at this time.

Haga Haga Haga... (doncha love inside jokes?)

So basically I'm just sitting here and getting squished by my fabulous friend ADRI!!! And it is a lovely Sunday... :) MY blogs never have a point... so there really is no point in reading them umless you just want a good laugh and to sit there and make fun of my lame-o comments... Adri just commented that I have a picture of my fabulous self as a desktop background... then she said I was concieded... Psh... no I am hot... I mean not... :) So yeah... Life is goin'.... So anyways... Speaking of cows.... Haha having two conversations is very fun... So cows... My fabulous father decided to kill one of our seven cows which I had fabulously named : Ed, Ted, Ned, Fred, and Joe, Piggy, Mahonri-Moriankamer... (sp?) We decided that he killed Joe cuz his name didn't rhyme... So then later my daddy called and told me that Joe was coming to dinner... :( I'm afraid to eat any meat in our house for fear that i'm eating JOE! .... Hmm well I think thats all I think... This year hasn't off to that great of a start for me... so hopefully that will change really soon... :)
Toodles! :)
